Auburn injury updates: South Alabama game

Auburn went without several players against South Alabama, including running back Damari Alston, wide receiver Malcolm Simmons and cornerback Rayshawn Pleasant.
With SEC play looming next week, several additional Tigers left the game against South Alabama. Auburn won the game 31-15.
“We’ve got some work to do in the training room the next few days to try to get healthy,” said head coach Hugh Freeze.
Amaris Williams leaves game
Sophomore defensive end Amaris Williams left the game in the first quarter. Freeze said that Williams separated his shoulder, but that it went right back into place and they’ll assess his soreness tomorrow.

“We’ll have to see how sore and swollen it is,” Freeze said.
Starting cornerback suffers knee injury
Auburn cornerback Jay Crawford also exited the game, limping off the field in the second quarter. He suffered some knee-to-knee contact that will be further evaluated.
“Jay had a knee to knee deal, not sure exactly the extent of that,” Freeze said.
Eric Singleton Jr. banged up
Wide receiver Eric Singleton Jr. suffered a hip pointer in the game as well. He’ll be monitored this week.
