Barring any setbacks, Auburn wide receiver Cam Coleman is in line to play against Kentucky, head coach Hugh Freeze said Thursday.

The Tigers’ top receiver entered the week questionable with a low-ankle sprain suffered against Arkansas last week.

“He went through obviously today’s jog through, and he did do that and looked good doing it,” Freeze said. “Tells me he feels pretty good, and he’s going to give it a go. He just wants to play, and he’s going to give everything he can to do that.”

Coleman leads the team with 440 receiving yards and three scores, and is second on the team with 32 receptions behind Eric Singleton Jr.’s 38 receptions.

Coleman is coming off two receptions for 27 yards and one score at Arkansas. Following his one-handed touchdown catch in the first half, Coleman was rolled up on by another player and left the game. He returned in the second half, but showed limited mobility.

OTHER INJURY UPDATES

Three other Auburn players were listed on the SEC’s initial Student Athlete Availability report released Wednesday.

Wide receiver Malcolm Simmons hyper-extended his knee in Tuesday’s practice, but “looked pretty decent” in Thursday’s walkthrough. Kicker Connor Gibbs will play Saturday after dealing with a strained hip flexor.

Out of the listed players, freshman defensive tackle Jourdin Crawford is the most likely to miss Saturday’s contest. Freeze said that Crawford is trending toward doubtful following an injury suffered in Tuesday’s practice.

“I think the others will give it a go,” Freeze said. “I’m not sure about Crawford.”

Running back Durell Robinson, who missed the Tigers’ previous six games, did not appear on the initial report. The UConn transfer might be poised for his first action since the Ball State game.

“He’s full go,” Freeze said. “He’s ready to go.”

Auburn kicks off against Kentucky Saturday at 6:30 p.m. CST on SEC Network.
