Five Auburn signees named players of the year in the state of Alabama

Five Auburn class of 2025 signees were named to the Alabama Sports Writer’s Association (ASWA) in their specific Alabama high school classifications. Alvin Henderson, Jared Smith, Jakaleb Faulk, Jourdin Crawford, and Anquon Fegans were all honored for their 2024 seasons. Tigers’ signee Malik Autry was a nominee as well.
7A AHSAA
Anquon Fegans, a four-star safety signee from Alabaster (Ala.) Thompson, won 7A Alabama High School Athletic Association (AHSAA) Back of the year. He finished the season with 79 tackles, 49 solo, 9 tackles for loss, 7 pass breakups, 6 interceptions 2 forced fumbles, 3 fumble recoveries, and a kick return for a touchdown.
Jared Smith, a four-star edge signee from Alabaster (Ala.) Thompson, won AHSAA lineman of the year. Smith finished the season with 83 tackles, 47 solos, 19 tackles for loss, 8 sacks, 23 quarterback pressures, and 2 pass breakups.
6A AHSAA
Jourdin Crawford, a four-star defensive lineman from Birmingham (Ala.) Parker, won 6A Lineman of the year. He finished the season with 72 tackles, 54 solos, 17 tackles for loss, 6 sacks, 1 pass breakup, and 1 fumble recovery. Crawford added to his season totals with 7 tackles, 4.5 tackles for loss, 3 sacks, and a pass breakup in the state championship game. He was named MVP for the game.

Jakaleb Faulk, a four-star linebacker signee from Highland Home (Ala.), won 2A Lineman of the year. He finished the season with 95 tackles, 78 solos, 19 tackles for loss, 5 sacks, 19 quarterback pressures, 1 interception, 1 pass breakup, and 1 fumble recovery. He also added several receptions and multiple receiving touchdowns on offense.
1A AHSAA
Alvin Henderson, a four-star running back signee from Elba (Ala.), won 1A Back of the year. He finished the season with 276 carries, 3,620 yards, and 61 touchdowns. Henderson broke the following AHSAA records:
- Most points in a season: 408
- Most touchdowns in a season: 67
- Most rushing touchdowns in a season: 61
- Most rushing yards in a game: 441 yards, which was the 12th-best single-game total in AHSAA history
- Most rushing yards in a career: 10,923 yards, making him the first 10,000-yard rusher in Alabama state history
