Auburn basketball underwent significant change in the offseason.

Perhaps none bigger than the recent change in guard at head coach, as Steven Pearl now oversees the program that his father, Bruce Pearl, built over the last 11 years.

Then, there’s the roster. Auburn returns just one scholarship player from last season — sophomore Tahaad Pettiford. The Tigers reloaded the roster through the transfer portal, signing a top-10 transfer portal class.

One transfer in particular is getting some preseason recognition from On3’s Jamie Shaw. UCF transfer Keyshawn Hall is listed as one of the 25 transfers poised to shape the college basketball season.

Shaw: With Bruce Pearl’s sudden retirement and assistant coach, and Bruce’s son, Steven Pearl signing a five-year contract to be Auburn’s next head coach, a lot of eyes will be on the Tigers this season. Last season’s team made a run to the Final Four, finished first in the SEC, and spend a lot of the back-half of the season ranked No. 1 overall. This season, they return Tahaad Pettiford off that team, and a lot of eyes will be on the steps he is able to take. However, a big factor for how far Auburn can go in year one of the Steven Pearl era will be with UCF transfer Keyshawn Hall. The 6-foot-7 transfer, is a ball-in-hand forward, able to consistently create advantages and produce for his team. Hall shot 35.4 percent from three last season while also finishing five games with five or more assists and 16 games with 20 or more points. He earned second-team All-Big 12 honors last year, Auburn will need his production.

Auburn begins its 2025-26 campaign Nov. 3, when the Tigers host Bethune-Cookman in Neville Arena.
