Monday injury updates ahead of Texas A&M

Heading into a road matchup with Texas A&M, Auburn head coach Hugh Freeze remains optimistic about his teams’ health.
Even with defensive end Amaris Williams playing extremely limited snaps against Oklahoma and cornerback Jay Crawford missing the game with a knee injury, Freeze is grateful to not have lost anyone else.
“We were pretty fortunate because it was a really physical game,” Freeze said.
Some Auburn players did suffer minor injuries in the loss, but nothing Freeze expects to keep them out of the lineup against Texas A&M.
Updates on Williams, Crawford
Williams, who separated his shoulder against South Alabama, played four snaps Saturday against Oklahoma. Freeze anticipates Williams being “much better” this week.
Crawford will continued to be monitored.
“We’ll see,” Freeze said. “Monday’s a total walkthrough, it’s hard to judge anything about how he really feels today.”

Other minor injuries
Auburn center Connor Lew briefly exited the Oklahoma game with what appeared to be a knee injury before returning. Freeze said Monday that the junior sprained his MCL, but he expects him ready for the game against Texas A&M.
“He’ll try to go,” Freeze said. “He’s not one to miss much.”
Running back Jeremiah Cobb suffered a hip pointer in the loss. Cobb carried the ball six times for Auburn Saturday for 61 yards rushing.
“I think he’ll be fine,” Freeze said.
The SEC releases its initial student athlete availability report Wednesday. Reports will be updated daily, and on Saturday, one final report will release 90 minutes before kickoff. Auburn’s game against Texas A&M is set for 2:30 p.m. CST on ESPN.
