Social Slant: Top Twitter reactions to OL Gernorris Wilson's commitment to Auburn
Auburn’s game against Penn State didn’t produce a win, but it did produce a commitment. Offensive lineman Gernorris Wilson has jumped in the boat for Auburn.
Wilson is the third Auburn commitment in the last week and the second in the last two days.
Wilson was on his official visit to Auburn during the Penn State game. He rode home, made a final decision, and wasted very little time in going public with his commitment to the Tigers.
Also wasting little time going public, to no one’s surprise, were the Auburn fans on Twitter.
Auburn fans excited to add an offensive lineman
It has been two weeks shy of ten months since Auburn last landed an offensive lineman, period.
To say Wilson’s commitment temporarily lifted some spirits in the Auburn fan base is an understatement.

As always, Auburn staff are having fun on twitter as well. Wilson was a priority recruit along the offensive line and on the overall recruiting board in general. The Tigers have felt some confidence in landing Wilson since the annual Big Cat Weekend recruiting event in July.
The 6-foot-5 offensive lineman was close to committing to Auburn during Big Cat Weekend. There was a chance he’d pull the trigger that day. He decided to hold off. Other schools came after him, most notably North Carolina. Wilson was undeterred, however, and chose the Tigers.
