Tigers picked 11th in SEC Preseason Media Poll

The votes are in for the 2025 SEC Preseason Media Poll.
Auburn was picked to finish 11th in the conference.
The Tigers move back one spot from their preseason ranking one year ago, where the program was picked to finish 10th in the SEC in 2024. Auburn went 5-7 overall, 2-6 in SEC play and finished 14th.
How last year’s preseason poll played out
Georgia was the favorite to win the SEC last season, but the Bulldogs finished just behind Texas in the standings. Tennessee (+4), South Carolina (+7) and Vanderbilt (+4) were the three schools that surpassed expectations the most.
Meanwhile, Auburn was one of four schools that finished at least four spots below where the preseason poll had predicted. Auburn, Kentucky and Ole Miss all finished four spots under their projection, while Oklahoma finished 13th in the league after coming in at No. 8 in the preseason poll.
Looking at the SEC schedule
Auburn will avoid facing the projected SEC champion Texas this season, but will play host to the projected No. 2 and No. 3 teams. It will only face one other team projected to finish within the top half of the conference, with the rest of its opponents projected 10th or below.
Quarterback Jackson Arnold makes his SEC debut with the Tigers in his return to Oklahoma Sept. 20. The Sooners are projected to finish 10th in the conference.

One week later, Auburn heads to Texas A&M, which finished eighth in this year’s preseason poll.
Auburn will then have a bye week to prepare for its SEC home opener against Georgia. Kirby Smart’s program was picked to finish second in the conference.
Following the Deep South’s Oldest Rivalry, the schedule favors Auburn. The Tigers then play the projected 12th (Missouri), 14th (Arkansas), 15th (Kentucky) and 13th (Vanderbilt) teams over a four-week span.
The conference schedule concludes with the Iron Bowl Nov. 29. Alabama is projected to finish third in the SEC this season.
