Auburn is still alive at the College World Series. But Monday’s 6-2 win over Stanford did not come easy.

Here’s a look back at the victory … with the help of Twitter.

In the first inning, Stanford’s Brock Jones scored after a Brett Barrerra double. The Tigers, once again started the game having to play from behind. After going through another scoreless inning in the 2nd, the Tigers gave up another score at the hands of Stanford’s Tommy Troy who was batted in by Adam Crampton.

After a few scoreless innings, Auburn’s bats came alive in the 6th inning.

Auburn second baseman, Cole Foster, returned for game two of The World Series against Stanford. In his second at-bat, he hit one off the left-center wall with the bases loaded. That brought home three Auburn runners and put the Tigers in the lead 4-2.

The hit proved to be a massive spark of energy as Auburn continued the hitting streak into the 7th inning. Bryson Ware scored off of a Brody Moore sac-fly to center. Shortly after, Blake Rambusch scored off of a Bobby Pierce double to left-center.

Auburn sent in Blake Burkhalter to finish out the game at pitcher. He entered in with one out left in the 7th inning and finished the job. Burkhalter then sat down three Stanford batters (two strikeouts) in a quick inning to take it to the 9th. Burkhalter “slams the door shut” on a come from behind College World Series for the Tigers.
