VIDEO: Hugh Freeze Press Conference (Ball State)

Auburn’s win against Baylor got the Tigers’ season off on the right foot, so to speak, but there still is plenty to litigate.
The Auburn coach said Monday that he’s satisfied with how his team performed in Waco. With that said, his defense conceded more than 400 passing yards and took a beating in several one-on-one coverage scenarios. He’s been working with defensive coordinator DJ Durkin and strength coordinator Dom Studzinski to gain a better understanding of why Freeze felt the defense looked slow.
Safety Champ Anthony, Freeze said, suffered a broken thumb against Baylor and will be out a few games. That will add complexity to the Tigers’ task of fortifying play in the secondary.
