The Florida Gators this week will be underdogs for the fifth time in six games. BetMGM, the official betting partner of On3, has made Georgia, whom the Gators face this Saturday in Jacksonville, Fla., a 7.5-point favorite vs. UF. The over/under is 50.5 points.

The No. 5 Bulldogs are 6-1 overall, 4-1 in the SEC and squarely in the hunt for a playoff berth. Unranked Florida is 3-4, 2-2. Georgia leads the all-time series with UF, 56-44-2 and the Dawgs have won four straight over the Gators. UF led last season’s meeting 13-6 at the half, but the Gators lost starting quarterback DJ Lagway for the game in the second quarter and ultimately lost 34-20.

Both teams were off last weekend.

Two weeks ago, UF beat Mississippi State 23-21 in Gainesville. In that game, running back Jadan Baugh rushed for a career-high 150 yards. Meanwhile, Lagway threw for 280 yards but was picked off twice.

The following day, UF fired coach Billy Napier, who was 22-23 in three and a half seasons. Receivers coach Billy Gonzales was named as the Gators’ interim head coach for the remainder of the season.

The same day UF took down Mississippi State, Georgia beat then-No. 5 Ole Miss 43-35 at home. The Dawgs trailed by nine entering the final quarter. Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton passed for 289 yards and four touchdowns in the win.

Florida is just 2-5 vs. the spread this season.
