GAINESVILLE, Fla. — Florida Gators head coach Billy Napier may be coming to a town or Gator Club near you. Florida announced eight dates that include two stops in Gainesville, south Florida, and New York.

Eight dates are two less than Napier’s 12 stops in 2021. The Gator Club of Miami and the Panhandle Gator Club were not included in 2022.

A two-time Sun Belt Conference Coach of the Year (2019 & 2021), Napier spent four seasons at Louisiana prior to Florida. He finished his tenure at UL with a record of 40-12, a perfect 16-0 mark against members of the Sun Belt West Division, four consecutive West Division titles, four straight bowl appearances, a share of the Sun Belt title in 2020 and the 2021 Sun Belt Conference Championship.

Napier’s first season in Florida left a lot to be desired. Florida kicked off the season with a bang by beating No. 7 Utah. Florida’s next three weeks included two losses and a narrow victory over an unmatched USF Bulls team that would fire its coach a month later. The Gators won four of its next six games but finished the season losing to Vanderbilt, Florida State, and Oregon State, finishing 6-7.

The tour this season will see Napier getting asked tougher questions about NIL and the future of the Florida Gators football program under his leadership.
