The Florida Gators opened the day on Monday with the No. 14 2026 recruiting class according to Rivals Team Rankings. However, Florida came away with a major stunner on Monday evening by adding a commitment from Frisco (Texas) Lone Star 4-star wide receiver Davian Groce. With Groce now in the fold, he becomes the highest-ranked prospect in the class, and the first Top 100 addition for the Orange and Blue going off the Rivals Industry Rankings.

The Florida Gators class now sits with 19 commitments

The Florida Gators entered the summer with only 2 commitments in the fold. However, a strong run of additions in June, July, and August has UF now sitting with 19 commitments. After the Gators’ latest verbal pledge, the class ranking moves up two spots in Rivals Team Rankings to No. 12 overall. On Florida’s rise in the rankings, Billy Napier and his staff jumped Clemson and Tennessee.

Groce is the third commitment at the wide receiver position for the Florida Gators. He joins Tuskegee (Ala.) Booker T. Washington four-star Marquez Daniel and Gainesville (Fla.) Buchholz four-star Justin Williams in UF’s class. The Gators wanted to sign three pass catchers this cycle, and with Groce now in the fold, that target number has been hit.

Florida still has some targets left on the board this cycle

Most of the work of building Florida’s class is complete. However, there are still some targets and spots available to address this cycle. The top-ranked uncommitted target on the Florida Gators board currently is Brandon (Miss.) Hartfield 5-star safety Bralan Womack. He will announce a commitment on August 21, and has a final group of Auburn, Florida, Ohio State, and Texas. The Tigers are the team that has been buzzing ahead of his decision date, but the Florida Gators are still actively working on Womack.

The Florida Gators appear to be in a favorable place with Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy 4-star linebacker DQ Forkpa. UF holds the RPM advantage, but is battling Michigan and Florida State. The Gators have continued to recruit Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy 4-star edge Jake Kreul, despite not making his top three last month. Kreul is set to announce his commitment on Tuesday, but Texas and Oklahoma appear to be in the best standing.

Florida has picked up contact with Hopewell (Va.) 3-star defensive lineman T-Ron Richardson, but has not hosted him on campus. Richardson plans to announce his commitment on August 26 and has the Gators on the short list. Despite plans to commit this month, Richardson still plans to take a few official visits this season.
