Florida Gators weekend OV position breakdown: Offensive line

The Florida Gators will welcome approximately 18 recruiting targets to campus on Friday for official visits. Of the large cluster of visitors, four of those names are offensive line targets. It’s a big opportunity for offensive line coaches John Decoster, Rob Sale, and the rest of UF’s staff to capitalize, or at the very least, make a lasting impression as the summer continues.
Here is an overview of those four names at the position expected to be in Florida this weekend on official visits.
OFFENSIVE LINE OFFICIAL VISITORS (May 30-June 1)

4-star Javeion Cooper (Syracuse commit), Melbourne (Fla.) Central Catholic
This Sunshine State lineman committed to Syracuse in December of last year, but has kept the door open. The Florida Gators are one of those schools still in the picture, and Javeion Cooper hasn’t been shy in saying UF is the biggest threat to flip him. Florida likes how athletic Cooper is at his size and how well he moves. After his time in The Swamp this weekend, Cooper plans to visit Florida State, Syracuse, and UCF in that order.

3-star G’Nivre Carr, Bradenton (Fla.) IMG Academy
Another in-state lineman expected to visit the Florida Gators this weekend. Despite playing at IMG, G’Nivre Carr is from Ocala. Florida was on Carr early and has been able to host him on campus countless times. There’s been confidence in UF’s standing for a while with Carr. However, he did take his first visit to Tennessee last month, and Carr spoke glowingly of the trip. A commitment date has been set for June 25, and Florida appears to be in great shape going into Carr’s trips. Carr plans to visit Alabama, Georgia, and Tennessee in that order after UF.

3-star Blaise Thomassie, Baton Rouge (LA) Catholic
The Florida Gators in March, but immediately moved to the top part of his leaderboard. UF views Blaise Thomassie as an interior lineman, with center his likely fit at the next level. He recently named a top five of Duke, Florida, Stanford, TCU, and Tulane. The Gators will host him for an official visit first, and could very well be in the best position right now. The center board isn’t overly deep with names, and Thomassie has several ties to UF’s program. Other set official visits include Stanford (June 6), TCU (June 12), and Tulane (June 19).

3-star Javarii Luckas, Belle Glade (FL) Glades Central
After Javarii Luckas visited the Florida Gators for the first time earlier in the spring, he left saying UF was his No. 1 school. We’ve continued to report that this is a name the Florida Gators staff is high on, especially head coach Billy Napier. He’s the cousin of former UF running back Kelvin Taylor, so there are family ties to the program here. Luckas also has future offical visits set to West Virginia and USF in that order. Florida has been trending, though, so this could be a target on commitment watch this weekend.
