Moore Magic: Gators cornerback turning potential into production

Florida cornerback Devin Moore is turning heads in his senior season. After battling injuries throughout his career, Moore is finally healthy and showing the potential that made him an On3 top-100 prospect in the 2022 class.

The standout play in recent games from the Naples, Florida native has earned him recognition nationally, with On3’s Impact Rankings moving him from No. 45 to No. 29 among corners and No. 263 overall. He also boasts an On3 4-star college ranking.

Moore has been tough to beat this season, allowing only one explosive completion while ranking among the nation’s top 20 corners in Ball Hawk Rate (25%) and PFF Coverage Grade (84.2). His consistency has given Florida a reliable presence in the secondary and someone who has delivered key plays in the biggest moments.

On3 highlights Devin Moore’s breakout impact

On3’s Clark Brooks highlighted Moore’s recent performance and rise on Tuesday morning.

“The former top-100 prospect in the 2022 class continues to have a career year. Devin Moore has only surrendered a single explosive completion so far this season. Moreover, his yards per coverage snap (0.48), Ball Hawk Rate (25.0%), and PFF Coverage Grade (84.2) all sit inside the 76th-percentile among college corners. The latter two metrics are top20 marks exiting this weekend..

“In the most heated game on Florida’s schedule, Moore nabbed a takeaway that led to points and Florida briefly holding a lead. Depending on your colors, his pick was a product of pure luck or a prime example of hard work meeting opportunity. Moore’s senior season has been a turning point. Healthy and playing at a high level, he’s finally living up to the expectations set when he arrived at Florida.
