Gators name captains for UF-LSU game

The Florida Gators have named three standout starters as captains for Saturday’s game against the No. 3 LSU Tigers at Tiger Stadium in Baton Rouge, La. And it’s a strong trio. This week’s captains are running back Jadan Baugh, EDGE Tyreak Sapp and placekicker Trey Smack.
Baugh, a sophomore, leads UF (1-1) in rushing with 197 yards and one touchdown on 27 carries. He has more than half of the Gators’ total rushing yardage so far in 2025.
A senior, Sapp has six total tackles with a sack. He led UF in sacks and tackles for loss in 2024.
Meanwhile, Smack is 5 of 8 on field goals and a perfect 8 of 8 on PATs.
The Gators name different captains each game.
Last week, senior offensive tackle Austin Barber, junior cornerback Dijon Johnson and senior corner Devin Moore were the Gators’ captain. Running back Ja’Kobi Jackson, EDGE George Gumbs and long snapper Rocco Underwood were UF’s Game-1 captains against LIU.
