Welcome to Gators Recruiting Live with Blake Alderman, Corey Bender and myself. Monday morning, we went on YouTube to dissect Jon Sumrall’s first big junior day as Florida Gators coach. UF had several top 2027 recruits on campus Saturday and by the time the event was over Florida had its first commitment of the cycle. We discussed that news and delivered all the scoop from Saturday on the show.

Breaking down the Florida Gators’ junior day

—(Intro) General thoughts/overall takeaways: The guys each gave their quick thoughts on how things went for UF on Saturday.

—(6:53) Four-star defensive back Amare Nugent of Plantation (Fla.) American Heritage committed to Florida on junior day. Corey broke down his play style and skillset; Blake talked about what the commitment means to Sumrall and his staff.

Notable: Nugent recently competed in the 2026 Navy All-American Bowl on Jan. 10 at the Alamodome in San Antonio, Texas. The event featured more than 100 of the top high school football players in the 2026 and 2027 classes.
