For Florida, which is 5-5 after losing three straight, this is yet another challenging game.

“We’re up for the challenge, this group’s up for the challenge, and we’re going to continue trying to work hard and improve both as a staff and at the player level,” Gators coach Billy Napier said Saturday night. “And look, for us to go where we want to go hIn otherere, as an organization, as a program, as a team, every single part of our organization is going to have to work their tail off. We have to be relentless in finding an edge, relentless in seeking improvement, right, and taking experience and learning and growing from that, knowing that there’s going to be other opportunities.”

Missouri is 8-2 and has been far better than most predicted before the season.

The Tigers average 32.8 points and 443.7 yards per game — and Florida’s defense has struggled of late. Missouri quarterback Brady Cook is 18th nationally in passing efficiency — four spots ahead of Florida’s Graham Mertz. Tigers running back Cody Schrader leads the SEC in rushing.

On defense, Missouri allows only 111 yards a game rushing. If the Tigers make the Gators one-dimensional on offense, it could be a long night for Florida.

The Gators have lost two of the last three times they’ve played at Missouri.

Something else to watch: It’s expected to be only around 48 degrees at kickoff And Florida simply hasn’t been good on the road this season.

The Gators need 1 more win to play in a bowl game

In other words, winning won’t be easy. Can a young Florida team pull off a surprise Saturday?

“I would say that these kids have been through — each one of them is a little different in terms of what their experience has been like. I think they’ve all been through some adversity to some degree,” Napier said. “I don’t think that — I don’t think we’ve had anybody there that’s undefeated. We do have some that come from great programs, and we also have different levels of success coming from high school.

I think toughness, endurance, faith, your ability to overcome, resiliency, those things are developed. You’re not born with them. So you’ve got to go through tough things to develop some of those things. I think it will prove beneficial.  Some of the tougher things I’ve been through in life have ultimately you didn’t understand it at the time, but you look back, and you benefited from it to some degree. So I think this is part of growth for a lot of guys on our team.”
