Initial injury report: Florida RB Ja'Kobi Jackson ruled out for Texas

The Florida Gators issued their initial availability report Wednesday night along with Texas. It’s the first of four injury reports that will be released before the Gators (1-3) face the No. 9 Longhorns (3-1) on Saturday at 3:30 p.m. on ESPN.
UF senior running back Ja’Kobi Jackson has been ruled out for the game. Jackson is the team’s second-leading rusher this season with 108 yards on 27 carries. He was third on the team in rushing last year with 509 yards and seven touchdowns.
Jackson’s numbers in 2024 included a career-high performance at Texas. He rushed for a team-high 116 yards and a touchdown on 19 carries. Florida starting running back Jadan Baugh also run the ball 19 times for 88 yards and a touchdown in Austin.
The Gators did get good news on the injury front and have welcomed back multiple players who were out in recent weeks, most notably freshman wide receiver Dallas Wilson. He will make his UF debut against Texas after being sidelined since early in camp.
Sophomore defensive lineman Michai Boireau, redshirt senior EDGE George Gumbs Jr. and redshirt sophomore receiver Aidan Mizell have all returned after missing the Miami game (Boireau was also out at LSU). Redshirt sophomore defensive lineman Brendan Bett and redshirt senior wide receiver J.Michael Sturdivant are also available after leaving the Miami game with injuries.
