Jermayne Lole, a defensive line transfer from Arizona State, is scheduled to visit the Gators and three other programs in the coming weeks.

Lole announced Friday that he has trips set to Louisville (May 13), Florida (May 20), Texas Tech (May 27) and Oregon (June 3). He entered the portal on the May 1 transfer deadline to be eligible this fall.

Gators Online’s Corey Bender was the first to report the mutual interest between the Gators and Lole. Co-defensive coordinator and defensive line coach Sean Spencer is spearheading Florida’s pursuit of the preseason first-team All-Pac-12 selection.

Despite exploring his options, remaining at Arizona State also remains on the table for him. He is seeking an NIL contract but hopes to remain a Sun Devil, per 247Sports, with Lole “expected to garner offers in excess of $100,000 by NIL collectives representing other college programs.”

Lole was the top-graded interior defensive lineman in the Pac-12 by Pro Football Focus in 2020. He missed the entire 2021 season due to a triceps injury suffered in August.

The 6-foot-2, 305-pound Lole is ranked No. 63 in the On3 Transfer Portal Rankings. He has played in 28 games over three seasons, with 123 tackles, 20 tackles-for-loss and 11 sacks.

Jermayne Lole teammate also considering Florida

Lole’s teammate at Arizona State, wide receiver Ricky Pearsall, is also being targeted by Florida. He took an official visit to UF last weekend and has since named the Gators as one of his three finalists, along with Auburn and Oregon.

Pearsall finished last season with 48 receptions, 580 receiving yards and four touchdowns, leading the team in all three categories. His best game came against No. 20 UCLA, catching four passes for 132 yards and two scores in ASU’s 42-23 win.

Former Florida quarterback Emory Jones committed to the Sun Devils on Thursday. Following 12 starts for the Gators in 2021, Jones now replaces ASU quarterback Jayden Daniels after he elected to go to LSU.
