Blowout in the Swamp: Florida routs FSU 40-21
GAINESVILLE—A tumultuous and disappointing season is over for the Florida Gators. Most of the team’s goals weren’t realized, but one was. A win over arch-rival FSU.
UF routed the ‘Noles 40-21 on Saturday in the Swamp behind running back Jadan Baugh’s big day. He rushed for 266 yards and two touchdowns on 38 carries. That’s the second-best single-game rushing total in Gators history, behind only Emmitt Smith’s 316 yards vs. New Mexico in 1989.
Baugh became just the 10th Florida back to surpass 1,000 yards in a season. He finished with 1,170.
UF finished the season 4-8. This was the first win since firing Billy Napier as coach Oct. 19. FSU finished 5-7.
UF now leads the all-time series with FSU 39–28–2 and is 23-13-1 in homes games.
