The latest ESPN matchup predictor for the Florida Gators

The ESPN matchup predictor is not bullish on the Florida Gators after last weekend’s 18-16 loss to USF. Three weeks ago, the computers had UF predicted to go 6-6 in the regular season, far below the expectations of those inside the program and many outside of it. And now, the wins total has dropped for a second straight week.

At this time, the ESPN matchup predictor has Billy Napier’s team, which is 1-1, favored in only three of its remaining games, which would mean a 4-8 season if those numbers held. And in every single game ahead, the predictor percentage has shifted more toward UF’s opponent. While there were minor percentage adjustments for most future UF matchups (see below), the Gators’ percentages for beating Kentucky and Florida State sharply dropped. The ESPN matchup predictor numbers will shift throughout the season and are impacted by every result.

As for this week, the experts at BetMGM have UF as a 7.5-point underdog at LSU.
