Florida and Georgia will meet in Jacksonville on Saturday for one of college football’s biggest rivalries. The annual clash, known as the World’s Largest Outdoor Cocktail Party, always brings out the energy no matter how either team’s season is going.

Few people understand the rivalry better than Tim Tebow. The former Florida Gators quarterback and Florida native grew up bleeding orange and blue and still feels the intensity of this matchup every year.

“This rivalry is special because it’s unique; it’s different. When you show up to this game, it’s split 50-50: red and black, orange and blue,” Tebow said on ESPN’s SportsCenter before SEC Nation. “People can’t even agree on the name. Some call it Florida-Georgia, others Georgia-Florida. They even argue about that.”

The rivalry’s tradition runs deep, even featuring its own Hall of Fame. This week, four new members were honored: former Gators Brandon James (class of 2009) and Todd Johnson (2002), along with Bulldogs greats Sony Michel (2017) and Freddie Gilbert (1983).

“It doesn’t matter what else you do in your career,” Tebow added. “If you play well in this game, you can end up in the Florida-Georgia Hall of Fame.”

Florida Gators Football Coaching Hot Board: 2.0

Georgia enters Saturday ranked No. 5 in the nation and fighting to stay in the College Football Playoff picture. Florida, who is now under interim coach Billy Gonzales, is hoping to reach .500 after a roller-coaster few weeks leading up to Billy Napier’s firing.

The Bulldogs lead the all-time series 56-44-2 and have won four straight. Tim Tebow went 3-1 against Georgia during his college career, with wins in 2006, 2008 and 2009.

Kickoff will be at 3:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
