WATCH: 450-pound Des Watson picks up first down...at RB
Desmond Watson is a 6-foot-5, 450-pound football player for the Florida Gators. As expected, he plays in the trenches and along the defensive line.
However, during Friday’s Gasparilla Bowl against Tulane, the massive defender was gifted the opportunity to make an impact in a much different way.
That was playing running back in the fourth quarter, and not only that, he took a handoff in the shotgun and picked up a first down on 3rd and 1. As expected, the made the national headlines and had the Florida sideline and fan base celebrating.
