The Gators landed their fourth player from the transfer portal on Monday and their second addition in four days. Former Ohio State linebacker Teradja Mitchell announced his commitment to Florida with On3’s Hayes Fawcett.

Mitchell finished his career with 63 tackles (31 solos) and 7.0 tackles for loss over his five years, although he has missed the majority of the 2022 season with an unspecified injury. He made only one defensive appearance this fall and played on special teams in three other games.

When he was healthy in 2021, Mitchell recorded a career-best 44 tackles in 12 games played, including double-digit tackles against Oregon (11) and Minnesota (10). He has year of one eligibility remaining due to the 2020 pandemic season.

Mitchell helps the Gators fill a major void at inside linebacker, where they lost super seniors Amari Burney and Ventrell Miller. Another player at the position, Derek Wingo, suffered a shoulder injury in the bowl game and his status for spring football is unknown.

Here are some clips from Mitchell’s time with the Buckeyes.
