2027 4-star Donte Wright commits to Georgia: 'I've always been a Georgia fan'

Georgia continues its hot streak and dips into the 2027 class with the commitment of Long Beach (Calif) Long Beach Poly 2027 four-star Donte Wright.
Wright is the second commit Georgia has landed in the 2027 class. He is the No. 78 overall prospect in the 2027 On3 Rankings.
The Bulldogs have always been a dream school for Wright.
“Georgia as a program develops at a very high level, and I think that’s what really attracts me to this program,” Wright told DawgsHQ. “Growing up, I’ve always been a Georgia fan, so now that they are recruiting me heavily, it’s very exciting.”
Wright camped at Georgia a few weeks ago. He enjoyed his time working with the staff in Athens.
“I enjoyed working with the staff all over the campus, not just football,” Wright said. “I have a really good connection with coach Donte. It was very exciting when I picked up this offer, you it’s one of the biggest well respected schools, so this was very exciting.”

Georgia cornerbacks coach Donte Williams played a huge part in landing Wright. His father played for Williams. He trusts Williams can maximize his time in college.
“What stood out to me is just how serious they are about football there, and not even just football, how serious they are about bettering you as a person,” Wright said. “There are just so many great people around Athens. I can go on and on about coach Donte his resume speaks for itself. He’s got so many guys to the next level. From the junior college level to where he is now and my dad and coach Donte have a great history. He was my dad’s former coach, so I know I will be in good hands with coach Donte for sure.”
