4-star DL Anthony Lonon makes it official with Georgia
Athens (Ga.) Clarke Central four-star defensive lineman Anthony Lonon jumped on board with Georgia on Wednesday as the early signing period opened.
The No. 237 overall prospect in the Rivals Rankings committed to his hometown program back on Aug. 2. Lonon missed most of the 2025 season with a knee injury. He is trending toward being ready for the spring as he’s set to enroll next month.
He won’t have far to move his belongings. Lonon grew up watching the Bulldogs a lot.
His father played with Georgia. He played his high school football a mile away from Sanford Stadium. There was a lot for Lonon to love about Georgia.

“I grew up here watching the team, it’s been the players that I’ve watched and seen go to the next level,” Lonon told DawgsHQ back on Aug. 2. “My favorite players I’ve watched like Jalon Carter, I wear number 88 because I mess with Jalon Carter.”
Georgia’s culture was also a big piece of the puzzle for Lonon, who chose Georgia over Georgia Tech.
“They’ve had a lot of great players and the culture, Dogs Nation, they have an excellent program, it’s all of that,” Lonon said. “I know, being a college football town, people take pride in being a UGA alumnus and living in Athens. I know that me being born and raised in Athens is something big. People will love that.”
Lonon is one of six defensive linemen committed to Georgia as members of the 2026 class.
