College Football Playoff Rankings: Georgia enters SEC Championship game ranked No. 3
The 2025 regular season is over, and Georgia is up one more spot in the College Football Playoff rankings. The Bulldogs rank No. 3 ahead of their clash with No. 9 Alabama in the SEC Championship game, a rematch from September.
Ohio State is ranked No. 1 followed by Indiana at No. 2. Those two teams will meet in the Big10 Championship game on Saturday. Both the Buckeyes and Hoosiers navigated the regular season without a loss.
Texas Tech moves to No. 4 and Oregon rounds out the top five. Ole Miss, a team Georgia beat 43-35 in October, ranks No. 6. Texas A&M, after losing to Texas, is ranked at No. 7 followed by Oklahoma at No. 8. Alabama moves up one spot to No. 9 and Notre Dame finishes out the top 10.
Georgia has a 1-1 record vs. the College Football Playoff rankings top 10, beating the Rebels but losing to Alabama. The Bulldogs also have wins over two other top 20 teams. Texas is ranked No. 14 making the Bulldogs 2-1 vs. the College Football Playoff top 15.

Tennessee fell out of the top 25 but Georgia Tech remained inside after its loss to Georgia. Kirby Smart’s team is now 3-1 vs. the College Football Playoff top 25.
The Bulldogs, with the help of first-year starting quarterback Gunner Stockton, have reeled off eight straight wins since falling to the Crimson Tide in September. After starting the season with wins over Marshall, Austin Peay and Tennessee, Alabama dropped Georgia’s record to 3-1. UGA bounced back with wins over Kentucky, Auburn, and Ole Miss in October. It took down Florida to kick off November before blowing out Mississippi State, Texas, and Charlotte. It wrapped up the regular season with a 16-9 win over No. 22 Georgia Tech.
