Georgia announces attendees for SEC Media Day

SEC Media Days will be held in Atlanta next week. Georgia’s spot is exactly a week away, and Kirby Smart has elected to bring a pair of defensive players and one guy on the offensive side of the ball. Junior inside linebacker CJ Allen and senior cornerback Daylen Everette will represent UGA from the defensive side. The lone offensive player is junior quarterback Gunner Stockton.
It comes as a bit of a surprise considering that Smart hasn’t officially announced Stockton as the starting quarterback. It’s one of the worst-kept secrets in the sport, however. Anyone who knows anything about what’s going on in Athens understands that it’s Stockton’s job to lose.
The Rabun County High School product started one game last season, the Bulldogs Sugar Bowl loss to Notre Dame. He was actually a bright spot in that contest, completing 20 of 32 passes for 234 yards and a touchdown. Stockton did that with little to no supported from the run game and the offensive line struggled with pass protection for most of the night.
He is coming off a really strong spring where, once again, he was a bright spot amid some early struggles for the offense. Stockton also had a tremendous second half in the G-Day spring scrimmage, completing several passes over 20 yards as he led the Red Team to a convincing win over the black team.

Everette and Allen might very well be Georgia’s two best prospects for the 2026 NFL Draft. Allen is going into his third season as a major contributor and his second as a full-time starter. He finished second on the team in tackles last season with 76 while racking up three tackles for loss, a sack, and an interception.
Everette is entering his third season as a starter and expectations are very high. He struggled as a sophomore and took a large step forward as a junior. He played huge roles in Georgia’s two wins over Texas last season, generating two turnovers in each of those contests.
