Georgia doesn't mince message after win: 'Get better'

Athens, Ga – Georgia players said the phrase ‘get better’ enough times that it needed to be noted on Saturday night. The Bulldogs beat Austin Peay 28-6 in Athens after a lenghty lightning delay and a moved up start time.
Georgia held Austin Peay to 196 yards of offense while putting up 421 yards on offense. There was a bit of stickout moment right before half when Georgia had five chances to score from the one-yard line and the Bulldogs were unable to score. That still stuck out after the game to Georgia’s quarterback.
The Bulldogs spoke almost unanimously about not playing to their standard on Saturday. That will need to change over the next six days.
“They did a good job of stopping us a little bit, and we just need to be a little better in the passing game,” Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton told reporters after the game. “It’s just about being better… When you’re on the one-yard line and you get that many chances and you don’t score, that wasn’t what we wanted, but you learn from it and get better.”
Georgia’s trip to Knoxville is on their minds already
The Bulldogs head to Knoxville, where a top-25-ranked Tennessee team will be waiting to open SEC play next Saturday night.

Georgia’s players want to improve when that game comes. Saturday’s win was a good one, but Georgia has their eyes on more.
“We just have to put this game to rest and then we’ll start to prepare for Tennessee,” linebacker CJ Allen said following the game.
Georgia’s players know their identity. They want to make sure that they’re true to it over the next week of practice.
“Mindset is just getting ready, you know, stay focused,” linebacker Justin Williams told reporters. “We came in at the beginning of the season, we talked about what our identity was going to be, and we know what we have to do to play at a high level.”
