Georgia Football Injury Report: Bulldogs list five players out, one questionable

As expected, Georgia has ruled out another player out for it’s seventh straight SEC game at Mississippi State. Four players who began the season as starters will be out for the Bulldogs’ seventh straight league contest. One player, redshirt freshman cornerback Demello Jones, is listed as questionable.
Redshirt sophomore defensive lineman Jordan Hall is the newest addition to the “out” portion of the Georgia availibility report. He suffered a knee injury against Florida after starting each of the first eight games.
“Jordan is a tough one because that kids been through a lot injury-wise,” Kirby Smart said on Monday. “He fought to get back last year towards the end of the year. He wasn’t even 100% healthy then, and then he had a good offseason and was really leading and competing and playing well for us. It’s a tough injury for him to sustain, and we’ll see what the timeline is once we know more later today and tomorrow.”
Senior wideout Colbie Young is out after suffering a broken bone in his lower leg against Ole Miss. Young sustained the injury on the third play from scrimmage when he caught a 36-yard pass from Gunner Stockton.

Leading up to the Ole Miss game, Young was Georgia’s leading receiver on the year and Stockton’s go-to target in the passing game. Noah Thomas is expected to step into his spot at the split end/X-receiver position.
Georgia will also be without redshirt sophomore defensive back Kyron Jones for the third straight game. He’s out “indefinitely” with a foot injury sustained prior to the Ole Miss game. The North Carolina native started the first six games of the season. True freshman tight end Ethan Barbour, who got the start in week one, has been out since week two with a dislocated ankle. Freshman wideout Talyn Taylor is also out for the fourth straight game after surgery to fix a collarbone injury.
As for Jones, he suffered an elbow injury in the Bulldogs win over Florida. Smart says that he’s dealing with soreness and that the injury isn’t as severe as originally thought. Barring a setback in the next two days, Georgia will have the services of sophomore linebacker Chris Cole, who didn’t finish the Florida game due to an undisclosed injury.
