STARKVILLE, Miss. — Georgia will be without at least five players for it’s Week 11 matchup with Mississippi State. The Bulldogs, ranked No. 5 nationally, will wait and see how redshirt freshman cornerback Demello Jones (elbow) looks in pre-game warmup before making a decision on his status.

Jones was the lone UGA player listed as questionable throughout the week. He suffered the elbow injury last week against Florida and did not finish the game. Jones hasn’t started a game this season but he has been playing a significant rotational role since the Alabama game in week five.

Redshirt freshman defensive lineman Jordan Hall, who started the first eight games, is out. Georgia ruled him out in the first availability report of the week. He was also injured against Florida, suffering a knee injury that will likely cause him to miss the rest of the season.

Senior wideout Colbie Young is out after suffering a broken bone in his lower leg against Ole Miss. Young sustained the injury on the third play from scrimmage when he caught a 36-yard pass from Gunner Stockton.

Leading up to the Ole Miss game, Young was Georgia’s leading receiver on the year and Stockton’s go-to target in the passing game. Noah Thomas stepped into Young’s spot at the split end/X-receiver position and started against Florida. He had a drop in that game but he also had a 22-yard touchdown grab.

Georgia will also be without redshirt sophomore defensive back Kyron Jones for the third straight game. He’s out “indefinitely” with a foot injury sustained prior to the Ole Miss game. The North Carolina native started the first six games of the season. True freshman tight end Ethan Barbour, who got the start in week one, has been out since week two with a dislocated ankle. Freshman wideout Talyn Taylor is also out for the fourth straight game after surgery to fix a collarbone injury.

Sophomore linebacker Chris Cole, who didn’t finish the Florida game with an undisclosed injury, is available on Saturday. Georgia has used Cole as an off-ball linebacker as well as an edge rusher and quarterback spy.
