Georgia football players most in need of a big spring

There are a handful of Georgia linebackers on a mission this spring. And there are some other Dawgs who really need to perform by G-Day.

First of all, the linebackers are well-documented.

Glenn Schumann’s crew from day one just continues to build at Georgia. The Dawgs are undoubtedly Linebacker-U in the SEC as a result.

Smael Mondon finished the 2022 season on an absolute tear. He was always in the right place at the right time (see the LSU helmet interception) and finished as the team leader in tackles.

But there are also some newcomers who happen to be absolute Dawgs. CJ Allen and Raylen Wilson have the early returns that should give Georgia fans a lot to look forward to.

On the flip-side, which non-freshmen are most in need of a big spring?

Christen Miller needs to step up, according to DawgsHQ senior editor Jake Rowe. Some viewers in our comments during our most recent live episode of The Georgia Show named Oscar Delp and Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint as well.

But is that really the case?

If you missed us live, you can catch it on YouTube, as well as on Apple and Spotify podcasts.

Georgia obviously didn’t make the NCAA Tournament Final Four

No SEC teams did, after all.

Still, we used the opportunity to shout out some pre-CFP era Georgia football teams that would have benefited the most from a shot at a final four.

The 2002, 2005, 2007 and 2012 teams are no-brainers.

Mark Richt probably has at least one National Championship to his name in an alternate reality multiverse of College Football in which the College Football Playoff exists.

But how do you possibly seed those teams?

That was up for debate on The Georgia Show.

Malachi Toliver adds to a loaded 2024 class

The 6’5″ 315-pound offensive lineman out of Cartersville is ‘only’ a three-star.

I contend that a Georgia 3-star is an Auburn 5-star at least, however, The Dawgs just evaluate and develop better.

While the Purple Hurricane has work to, there’s no denying that Georgia’s #1-overall class in 2024 just continues to get better with its first offensive lineman of the cycle.

Cartersville knows how to grow them some football players.

A big frame on Toliver and a nasty mustache (my official analysis) could go a long way once Stacy Searels gets the chance to turn Toliver into a trench monster.

You’ll want to hear what recruiting analyst Jake Reuse has to say about that.
