Georgia was given its biggest test of the season so far on Saturday, and the participation report reflects it. We saw the number of players that got in the game cut down from 74 in Week 1 (UT-Martin, 48-7 W) and 80 in Week 2 (Ball State, 45-3 W) to just 56. Where that decrease camp from primarily? The Bulldog backups, many of whom are freshmen.

Only seven true freshmen saw action in the 24-14 win over South Carolina according to the participation chart provided by Georgia. Here’s how they did.

# 0 RB Roderick Robinson – Robinson got one carry for one yard. With Georgia backed up at its own 11, the San Diego, Calif. native was given the ball on 1st and 10. He then exited the game, reportedly going to the locker room shortly after.

# 8 DB Joenel Aguero – Aguero saw the field on special teams. He did not record a stat after having a tackle on defense in each of the first two games.

# 29 DL Gabe Harris – Like Aguero, Harris’ action was limited to special teams. He also did not record a stat after having a tackle for loss in each of the first two games.

# 33 LB CJ Allen – Allen recorded snaps on defense for Georgia at inside linebacker. He was on the field as early as the first drive as a substitute for Jamon Dumas-Johnson when South Carolina got in the red zone before coming off on third down. He did not record a stat.

# 35 LB Damon Wilson – Wilson saw the field on defense late, lining up with his hand in the dirt as an EDGE rusher during South Carolina’s final drive. He did not record a stat.

# 44 DL Jordan Hall – Hall saw the field on defense late in the game as a part of the Georgia pass rush package. He provided pressure on Spencer Rattler on Dan Jackson’s interception.

# 91 K Peyton Woodring – Not the best of weeks for the freshman kicker. After missing a field goal last week, the Lafayette, La. native went just 1-of-3 against the Gamecocks, missing from 28 and 43 while making from 31.

“I’ve seen better in practice. He’s been really consistent in practice,” Georgia head coach Kirby Smart said after the game when asked about his concern level for the kicking game. “We’ll go back and watch the tape, look at it and continue to re-evaluate it. We’ve got to do something there. We’ve got to be able to score points. I’d like to not have to kick those field goals. That’s the first answer.”

DNP (19) – #0 LB Troy Bowles, #17 WR Anthony Evans, # 57 OL Monroe Freeling, #4 DB AJ Harris, #15 DB Daniel Harris, #13 WR Yazeed Haynes, # 59 OL Bo Hughley, #55 DL Jamaal Jarrett, #31 DB Kyron Jones, # 7 TE Lawson Luckie, # 72 OL Jamal Meriweather, #70 OL Joshua Miller, #26 LB Sam M’Pemba, # 27 DB Chris Peal, #9 DB Justyn Rhett, # 54 OL Kelton Smith Jr., #88 TE Pearce Spurlin, #10 WR Tyler Williams, #5 LB Raylen Wilson
