Georgia lands commitment of 4-star RB Jae Lamar

Georgia has added another name to the commit list with the addition of Moultrie (Ga.) Colquitt four-star running back Jae Lamar. Georgia was able to beat Clemson, Miami, Auburn and Florida State to keep the four-star running back in the state of Georgia.
Lamar is the 21st commit in the class of 2026 for Georgia. Georgia running back coach Josh Crawford offered Lamar last summer and has recruited the No. 122 overall prospect in the 2026 On3 industry Rankings heavily for the last year.
Crawford has a connection with Colquitt County High School. He was once an assistant coach. Lamar developed a strong relationship with Crawford throughout the process.
“We have a great relationship, we’ve been communicating with each other for months,” Lamar said back on Jan. 16. “The relationship is great… I’ve been one of the main priorities in the 2026 class along with Savion Hiter and a few other backs and coach Crawford has been hitting me up.”

Lamar grew up as a Georgia fan. His youth football league team was called the Georgia Dogs. It was a dream of Lamar’s to potentially play for the Bulldogs in college.
“I grew up a big Georgia Bulldog fan,” Lamar told DawgsHQ on Jan. 16. “I always wanted to play and be there as a running back growing up. My rec and pop Warner ball team was the Georgia Dogs. We looked just like the Georgia Bulldogs. I told my mom one day, that I would be in a Georgia Bulldog uniform. That stood out to me growing up. My whole family is Georgia Bulldog fans.”
