After helping Georgia to a 12-1 record and a second straight SEC Championship, Georgia offensive coordinator Mike Bobo has been named a finalist for the Broyles Award. The honor goes annually to the nation’s top assistant coach.

Bobo is one of five finalists for the award, joining Indiana defensive coordinator Bryant Haines, Miami defensive coordinator Corey Hetherman, Ohio State defensive coordinator Matt Patricia, and Texas Tech defensive coordinator Shiel Wood. The winner will be announced February 12 at the 30th annual Broyles Award ceremony in Hot Springs, Arkansas.

He’s the second Georgia assistant to be named a finalist for the award. His predecessor, Todd Monken, made the same cut in 2022. The Bulldogs went 15-0 that season and won the National Championship.

Bobo is in the third season of his second stint at Georgia. The Bulldogs rank No. 34 nationally in scoring offense and No. 3 in time of possession. They also have the nation’s No. 2 offense at scoring touchdowns in the red zone, reaching the end zone from inside the opponent’s 20-yard line 79.25 percent of the time. Georgia also leads the country in fourth down conversion rate, making it 76.47 percent of the time.

Despite replacing four starters on the offensive line and its quarterback, Georgia has also fielded one of the SEC’s most consistent rushing attacks. The Bulldogs have averaged at least four yards per carry in 10 of 13 games this season. The Bulldogs rank fifth in the league in rushing yards per game at 188.62.

Bobo has also overseen the development of Georgia quarterback Gunner Stockton. In his first season as as starter, Stockton has completed 70.7 percent of his passes for 2,691 yards, 23 touchdowns, and just five interceptions. Stockton has also run the football 116 times for 442 yards and eight scores.

Junior wideout Zachariah Branch, who spent his first two seasons at USC, has also broken out. He has 73 grabs for 744 yards on the year while scoring five touchdowns. Sophomore tailback Nate Frazier currently has 861 yards and six touchdowns on 158 totes. A total of 10 different Bulldogs have accounted for over 200 yards of total offense on the year.

While the Bulldog defense got off to a slow start in 2025, the offense kept them in them in the win column. Bobo’s side of the ball was instrumental in shootout victories over Tennessee and Ole Miss, helping Georgia go 7-1 in the league and reaching the SEC Championship game where it beat Alabama 28-7.
