Georgia moved into the top five of the Associate Press poll with a thrilling overtime victory over Tennessee. The Bulldogs remain in the same spot after enjoying their second bye week of the season. The poll was updated on Sunday for week five and UGA stuck in the No. 5 spot. They are No. 3 in the latest coaches poll.

There is a change ahead of the Bulldogs Miami has moved from No. 4 to No. 2 after beating Florida. Ohio State still sits in the No. 1 spot and Penn State slides back to No. 3. LSU is the only SEC team ahead of the Bulldogs at No. 4.

The Bulldogs win at Tennessee, ranked No. 15, is easily their most impress of the season. They had to overcome five different deficits to make that happen. Georgia fell behind 7-0 after the Volunteers’ first possession of the day and quickly tied it up.

It then surrendered 14 unanswered points to trail 21-7 at the end of the first quarter, but the Bulldogs ten went on a run of their own. Georgia cut Tennessee’s lead to 21-14 on the first play of the second quarter and then added three more to make it 21-17 at the half.

The Bulldogs stayed hot, taking a 24-21 lead with the opening possession of the second half. Georgia used 14 plays to travel 75 yards and 13 of those plays were no the ground. The Bulldogs got a turnover later in the third quarter but only got three points out of it to make it 27-21.

Tennessee put an end to Georgia’s 20-0 run with a 56 yard touchdown pass from Joey Aguilar to Chris Brazzell before the third quarter ended. The point after put Georgia behind for the third time in the game, but it bounced back with drive that ended in another short field goal. The Bulldogs led 30-28 in the fourth quarter but Tennessee went on a run of its own, scoring 10 straight points to put UGA at an eight-point disadvantage.

But Gunner Stockton had an answer, tossing his second touchdown of the day with 2:32 left in the game. He then hit Zachariah Branch for the two-point try to tie the game at 38. Tennessee had a chance to win it in regulation but missed a 43-yard field goal, sending the game in overtime.

Tennessee ran three plays and kicked a field goal to take a 41-38 lead. Georgia needed just three plays to reach the end zone and walk it off with a 44-41 win. The Bulldogs also have wins over Marshall and Austin Peay to their credit. Next up is a Sanford Stadium showdown with Alabama, ranked No. 17 by the AP poll. Kickoff is set for 7:30 p.m. ET on ABC.
