Georgia vs Ohio State: what Munson would've worried about

I am so excited to see this Georgia vs Ohio State matchup. It’s only been 30 years since the last time these two silver and red College Football powers played.

I’m also excited for it to be a Dawgs game week again.

If you’re new to DawgsHQ, welcome.

I write a weekly column in the ‘voice’ of Larry Munson (you just need to read it to see what I mean) that captures the legendary radio announcer’s angst before a game.

His pessimism rounded out a magnificent passion for Georgia football Munson made his own.

I do my best to keep that spirit alive, humbly and respectfully of course.

It’s Peach Bowl time. It’s what Larry Munson would’ve worried about.

Let’s ride.

Can you believe Georgia vs Ohio State is really happening you guys?

The last time these two teams played, Kirk Herbstreit wasn’t even talking about our team on TV yet.

He was just playing against it. His Buckeyes lost of course, but I’m still just waiting for him to suit back up and try to get some revenge for what Garrison Hearst did to those guys from Ohio.

But this isn’t the Citrus Bowl now, of course.

This is a playoff game and we get it right in our own back yard.

Have we played too many games here? Are our guys just too comfortable now?

These kinds of things can get sideways in a hurry if your head isn’t fastened on properly you know.

And now Ohio State gets to play us after missing its conference championship game

The Buckeyes have one fewer game of all that wear and tear to worry about.

They’re probably as healthy as they’ve been, I imagine, since the summer.

They’re missing a couple guys, of course, but their backups are probably even better. That’s just what Ohio State can do to you.

These Buckeyes just refuse to quit.

Especially when their last game was a loss to Michigan. Ohio State won’t even say the letter ‘M’ because of that rivalry.

Do you know how much you have to hate someone to chop their letter out of the alphabet?

They are angry, and they really want to beat the stew out of us so they can get their rematch.

Maybe that backfires and they spill their juice a bit.

But you just cannot overlook the road to revenge in these things.

Do we get little Ladd McConkey and big Warren McClendon back for this one or not?

This is what I’m talking about when I mention they didn’t have to play their conference title game.

I’m glad we have the hardware to prove we won ours, but at what cost?

Now McConkey and McClendon are banged up and we will need every single player we can put on the field.

Can we add these transfer portal guys to the lineup for this game?

On second thought, I don’t know who Ohio State got over there in its portal so we might need to leave that alone.

Let’s send it down to the sideline for an update – LORRANWHADDYAGOT???!?!?!?!??!?
