Jalen Carter among NFL Draft's best – combine workouts or not

Jalen Carter won’t work out at the NFL Combine, we learned Monday. Despite that decision, there’s no doubt that the Georgia defensive lineman is atop this Draft class’s talented bunch.

NFL Draft expert Daniel Jeremiah couldn’t be higher on Carter. The Athletic’s Bruce Feldman wrote a profile that sings his praises.

For all of the flack that Todd McShay caught in questioning Carter’s character, there really is a Jalen Carter renaissance going on of late.

Now, the decision not to work out at the Combine and only put his physicality on display at Georgia’s Pro Day could cause a slight stir among the critics.

But there’s a lot on tape with this guy. And as we talked about on The Georgia Show Sunday night – even before we knew about his Combine decision – the legend of Jalen Carter thus far should speak for itself.

Dawgs recruiting buzz alive and well at Under Armour Atlanta event

DawgsHQ’s Jake Rowe and Jake Reuse hit the road to Carrollton for Under Armour’s Atlanta showcase over the weekend.

Their takeaways raised my eyebrows.

Essentially, the refrain from the nation’s top talent sounds familiar. Recruits say the same things about Georgia that they used to say about Alabama.

Kirby Smart built a new standard. He already had the recruiting prowess. Now, the proof is in the pudding with back-to-back National Championships.

‘Georgia is Georgia.’ No other pitch needed.

Dawgs fans will want to hear what Jake Reuse and Jake Rowe had to say about two prospects in particular: David Sanders and Sacovie White struck a chord, in particular.

Dawg Stocks: the Georgia brand is down to one-word name recognition

We do a Dawg Stocks up/down report each Sunday night on The Georgia Show.

I was in the Miami area for a wedding over the weekend, and got into a College Football conversation with my Miami Hurricanes fan of an Uber driver.

Inevitably, I let him know that I live in Georgia and was just there to visit. I didn’t have to say much else about the Dawgs.

“Man,” my driver said. “Kirby.”

That’s all he said. “Kirby.”

If that doesn’t show you what kind of influence Kirby Smart‘s Georgia program already has in a red-hot recruiting zone, then I don’t know what else to tell you.

The nation is on notice. Georgia is Georgia. Kirby is Kirby.
