WATCH: Highlights of new Georgia four-star LB commitment Nick Abrams

Georgia picked up another four-star prospect on Wednesday. McDonogh School (Owings Mills, Md.) linebacker Nick Abrams chose the Bulldogs over Alabama, Michigan and Oregon, giving the Bulldogs 29 commitments in the 2026 class.
At 6-foot-2, 220 pounds, Abrams is ranked as the nation’s No. 293 overall prospect and No. 19 linebacker per the Rivals Industry Ranking, a weighted average that includes all three websites that publish recruiting rankings. He’s the No. 7 player in Maryland.
Abrams has been a Georgia target for the better part of the past year. Defensive coordinator and inside linebackers coach Glenn Schumann ramped up the Bulldogs pursuit back in the spring when he saw Abrams twice during the evaluation period. A look at his junior highlights shows why UGA heavily pursued.
“First and foremost, it was coach Schumann,” Abrams told DawgsHQ. “Ever since that first phone call when he first offered me, there was that connection. He’s a super great guy. He loves his family. But, he’s super serious about ball. He’s like a robot when it comes to football. He can remember stuff, and he skips words because he’s thinking so fast and his brain is going a million miles a minute.”

The Bulldogs now have two linebackers committed in the 2026 class. Abrams joins Shadarius Toodle (Cottage Hill Christian Academy; Mobile, Ala.) in Georgia’s No. 2-ranked 2026 class. Toodle flipped to UGA from Auburn last month and started a run of nine commitments in nine days for Kirby Smart and company. One of those commitments, James Johnson, flipped to Texas on Tuesday.
None of Georgia’s inside linebackers will exhaust eligibility in 2025. Projected starters CJ Allen and Raylen Wilson, former elite prospects in their own right, are juniors. Ex-five-star recruits Chris Cole and Justin Williams are behind the junior duo with true freshmen Zayden Walker, also a former five-star, and AJ Kruah waiting in the wings.
