2026 3-star running back Jayreon Campbell commits to Indiana

Indiana football has picked up a commitment from 2026 running back Jayreon Campbell, continuing the Hoosiers’ hot last couple of weeks on the recruiting trail.
Campbell’s commitment to the Hoosiers comes after he was in Bloomington on a visit to Indiana this past weekend. The Georgia native announced his pledge on social media on Monday evening.
A 6-foot, 190-pound half back, Campbell is rated as a consensus three-star recruit and the No. 39 running back in the country, according to the On3 Industry Ranking.

He ultimately chose Indiana over a host of SEC schools, including the likes of Georgia Tech, Ole Miss, Georgia, Auburn and South Carolina.
Jeremy Johnson of DawgsHQ described Campbell as “loud as a ball carrier.”
“He’s going jump cut and dart and startle defenders and then he’ll run through you,” Johnson said after watching Campbell in the Minority Coaches Association Rising Seniors All-Star game in December. “He’s very physical. Campbell had a few plays in which he simply wanted to run over the defender and created load ‘cracks’ in doing so. Campbell also showed some speed after bouncing the ball outside and racing the defense to the pylon on his touchdown run.”

Back in February, Campbell detailed to Gamecock Central what he was looking for in a school.
“Well, the running back room, the depth chart — seeing how many people are on the depth chart,” Campbell said. “The O-linemen, who they’re bringing in with my class and who’s already there, and the run scheme — how they run the ball.”

Campbell is the first commitment in the running back room for the Hoosiers in the class of 2026. Indiana’s 2026 class now features 17 commitments and ranks No. 29 in the country and No. 10 in the Big Ten.
The latest addition to the 2026 class for the Hoosiers, Campbell joins offensive lineman CJ Scifres and tight end Parker Elmore as 2026 recruits to pledge to Curt Cignetti and the Hoosiers following visits this past weekend.
