If you’ve been on social media these past few weeks, you’ve probably started to notice 2026 Indiana basketball commit Prince-Alexander Moody on your feed.

Whether you’re on Twitter (X) religiously or just occasionally, several Hoosier fans have gotten the chance to interact with Indiana’s first commit of its 2026 class, but I’m sure almost every IU fan has seen the love he’s been giving the fans, the program and the university as a whole.

This isn’t by coincidence, as Moody has purposefully interacted with as many fans as possible as he attempts to show Hoosier Nation the love that he feels Indiana showed him during his recruitment process.

“I want Hoosier Nation to know, I’m all in and I plan to honor and respect the candy stripes as much as they do,” Moody told TheHoosier.com. “I appreciate all of the love and support I have received. I am eternally grateful to each and every person that takes time out of their schedules to send me a post, comment, write-up, or gif.”

Moody understands that an interaction like this can make someone’s day, while it only takes him a few seconds to post. This has resulted in several fans on Twitter commenting on his posts, saying things like: “he’s my new favorite Indiana player” or “I haven’t seen him play but I already love him.”

This all stems from the posts and comments Moody has shared online, with the guard from Pennsylvania constantly following up on fans’ posts, while also posting on his own about why Indiana is a special place. He’s even shown other Indiana sports love, with Moody really developing into an IU football fan over the past few weeks and having different conversations with fans about Curt Cignetti‘s squad.

It’s these kinds of bonds between the players and fan base that make college sports special, and Moody has understood that and then some. He takes pride in showing his fan base love, but that all goes back to his core values off the court.

“I understand being a Hoosier is a privilege many will not experience. God chose me, Hoosier Nation welcomed me, therefore I need to work hard to ensure I remain worthy of such a blessing,” Moody explained.

He also mentioned that finding a fan base that felt like home was very much a part of his recruitment process, as his love for feeling like home was a major factor for Moody.

“I had to choose a school that would provide me with the tools I needed to be my best self regardless of money and although I didn’t understand Indiana basketball, I felt that I arrived at the place God ordained for me to be,” Moody said, adding, “My mom told me that I should not just choose somewhere because of money. She would always tell me ‘all money, ain’t good money.'”

While many athletes are focused on the financial aspect of college sports, Moody decided that finding a program that felt like home was more important, resulting in him landing with the cream and crimson, which is something he’s extremely excited about.

“I plan to visit eat at Z & C and eat breakfast at the Convenience Mart at 17th & Dunn. Get a haircut at Faded, Enrich & Bent. Eat ribs at Jack’s, and D’Angelos BOGO pizza on Mondays,” Moody said, explaining some of the Bloomington establishments he’s excited to explore once he’s on campus.

To Moody, Bloomington won’t be somewhere he simply plays basketball and collects a check—it’ll be his second home, and he knew from the very beginning.

“During my visit, I felt the peace, love and respect of the people and knew immediately that this was the place for me. From breakfast at Uptown, and lunch at Buffalouie’s and Lennie’s every one was genuine and authentic. No smoke and mirrors. That Midwest hospitality was refreshing,” Moody explained.

Even on a recruiting visit, Moody knew that Indiana was the place for him, which has given fans all the more reason to like him. While Moody knows he’ll feel like home off the court, he also mentioned how he expects to feel comfortable on the hardwood because of the IU coaching staff.

“I’m grateful to Kenny Johnson for believing in me enough to push for me to be blessed with this opportunity,” Moody said. “Then Coach DeVries took over and we formed a bond. He’s a straight shooter and didn’t try to impress me with false promises. He kept it real and simple. Then seeing the workouts, I just knew I would fit perfectly into his system.”

After feeling like home when walking the streets of Bloomington and sensing a connection with the coaching staff, Moody was sold and was ready to become a Hoosier.

“I committed off of my relationship with Coach DeVries, Coach Kenny and the entire staff and because of how authentic and genuine the people were. Friendly, bake you a pie, kind of folk” Moody said.

This is what prompted Moody to interact with Indiana fans so frequently on social media, as he feels the need to give back after such a positive experience during his recruitment.

To Moody, Hoosier Nation has welcomed him with open arms, and a comment on a post is just a small token of his appreciation. But to Indiana fans, a like or comment from the four-star recruit shows just how committed Moody is to being the best player he can be when fall of 2026 rolls around.
