2026 in-state offensive lineman CJ Scifres commits to Indiana

Indiana football’s hot start to June continued over the weekend, as 2026 in-state offensive lineman CJ Scifres announced his commitment to Curt Cignetti and the Hoosiers.

Scifres’ commitment to Indiana comes while the Center Grove product is currently on his official visit to Bloomington. He officially announced his pledge via social media on Saturday afternoon.

A 6-foot-6, 325-pound lineman, Scifres is currently an unranked recruit, according to On3, in the class of 2026.

This past weekend wasn’t the first time Scifres has visited Bloomington. Back in early November, Scifres was in attendance for Indiana’s historic win over Michigan.

Scifres spoke with On3 following the visit.

“The atmosphere was amazing,” he said. “The fans were electric when needed, and overall it was a very good atmosphere to be in and to play in. The most exciting opportunity I had with the Hoosiers is that they make you feel like you are a part of their family they treated me and my parents really well. They also want to build a good relationship with you. Like I have gotten a bunch of texts from the coaches telling me good luck before my games, and after the game I was able to talk to some of the coaches.”

Following the commitment of Scifres, Indiana’s 2026 class is now 15 players strong. It’s a class currently ranked No. 31 in the country and No. 11 in the Big Ten, according to On3.

Scifres now joins fellow 2026 offensive line commits Samuel Simpson and Kenton Mondeau.

Scifres’ commitment also continues a recent string of pledges for Indiana from the class of 2026. Just two weeks into a busy month of June, Scifries is now the sixth recruit to commit to Indiana this month.
