Indiana football has landed another pledge out of the 2026 class with the commitment of in-state tight end Trevor Gibbs.

Gibbs, a native of Crown Point, Indiana, announced his commitment at Crown Point High School on Wednesday night.

In his official commitment video, Gibbs said “The best in Indiana play for Indiana.”

Gibbs is rated as a three-star recruit and the No. 1 linebacker in the state of Indiana, according to the On3 Industry Ranking — however Gibbs is expected to play tight end at the next level for the Hoosiers.

Standing at 6-foot-4 and 235 pounds, Gibbs ultimately chose the Hoosiers over fellow finalists Purdue, Iowa, Cincinnati and Boston College.

“[Indiana’s] a great place to get developed,” Gibbs told On3 in late April. “The coaches bring a great mindset and energy.”

On the offensive side of the ball, where he’s expected to play in college, Gibbs caught over 35 passes for over 600 yards and nine touchdowns at the tight end spot. Defensively, at linebacker, Gibbs tallied more than 60 tackles, three interceptions and a forced fumble.

Indiana’s 2026 class has grown exponentially in the last couple of weeks. Gibbs becomes the Hoosiers’ eighth pledge and the first tight end in Indiana’s 2026 recruiting class.
