Indiana basketball offers 2026 rising guard Bryson Howard

Indiana basketball has added to its 2026 recruiting board as it offered rising guard Bryson Howard of Heritage (Tx.) High School and Pro Skills on the Nike EYBL circuit.

Howard is the son of former NBA player and Wake Forest standout wing Josh Howard. He played 10 seasons in the NBA.

Bryson Howard has been one of the standout performers this spring averaging 20.9 points and 5.6 rebounds a game. He’s shooting 45.5 percent (25-of-55) from three and 53.8 percent from the field. He has three 30+ point games so far this spring.

He ranks sixth in the EYBL in points per game and third in efficiency.

He broke out in the live recruiting period, session II of the spring, when he averaged 26.8 points per game and had two 30+ point games. He was 11-of-27 from three that session.

“He started the weekend with a bang, going for back-to-back thirty-point performances,” On3 National Basketball Recruiting Analyst Jamie Shaw said earlier this month. “Howard shot the ball well from beyond the arc, but he also showcased some athletic twitch around the basket. What stood out later in the week for Howard was his his instincts on defense. Routinely, he would swtich down a line up to guard on the block, where he would gain leverge and use his length to give the opposing big fits. Howard did not have much of a reputation coming into the weekend, but should be one of the big winners of the Memphis EYBL stop.”

Since the spring, schools like Indiana, SMU, Texas, Missouri, Wake Forest, Oklahoma, Virginia Tech, Texas A&M, Houston, Tennessee, Georgetown and others have extended Howard an offer.

“Man it’s been truly a blessing,” Howard told TheHoosier.com. “I’ve been waiting for this moment my whole life. All the hours of hard work is finally paying off.”

Last season as a junior at Heritage, Howard averaged 17.1 points, 10.2 rebounds, 3.4 assists and 2.0 steals per game and helped the Coyotes to a record of 32-5.

Howard tells TheHoosier.com that he has spoken to every member of the coaching staff, including head coach Darian DeVries. Assistant coach Rod Clark was the first to make contact last week.

Howard is a three-star guard ranked No. 215 in the On3 Industry Ratings.
