2027 top-3 prospect Ryan Hampton lands Indiana offer

One of the best players in the 2027 class has landed a scholarship offer from the Indiana basketball program as five-star guard Ryan Hampton of Dynamic Prep (Tx.) became the newest Hoosier target.
Hampton is ranked No. 3 overall in the On3 Industry Rankings for the 2027 class and is the No. 1 shooting guard in the class.
Ryan Hampton transferred to Dynamic Prep last summer to play for head coach Jermaine O’Neal, and was a critical part of their rotation this season. He averaged 7.8 points per game this season.
Dynamic Prep lost to Columbus (Fla.) in the Geico Nationals Championship game. They will be joining Overtime Elite next season.
“It’s been a great experience playing for Coach Jermaine,” Hampton said. “I just think since I got to Dynamic Prep, it’s been a great experience being coached by an ex-NBA player that played, I think, 18 seasons. I’m very close with his son. Because his son’s a senior on the team, he tells me a lot of great advice that I need to work on because as a sophomore, I’m an underclassman, so I need to learn a lot of stuff throughout the season.”

Hampton plays for Drive Nation on the Nike EYBL Circuit in the U16 division and is averaging 21.7 points, 9.0 rebounds and is shooting 43.1 percent from the field after one session of play this spring. He scored 20+ points in all three games.
“I am able to score the ball,” Hampton told On3. “But I can also get my teammates involved, be effective on the boards, and I play hard every possession. This season, I’m seeing my strength is helping me and I’m better with my catch-and-shoot. I watch a lot of Jayson Tatum and Anthony Edwards. Tatum’s smoothness and Edwards’ explosiveness.”
Hampton is the younger brother of former First Round NBA Draft pick RJ Hampton.
In addition to Indiana, Hampton holds offers from Auburn, Tennessee, SMU, TCU, LSU, Arizona State, Texas, Maryland and others.
