Availability Report: Byron Baldwin Jr. active for Week 8 clash with Michigan State

Indiana football freshman safety Byron Baldwin Jr. is not listed on the Big Ten availability report ahead of Indiana’s Week 8 showdown at home with Michigan State.

A native of Baltimore, Maryland, Baldwin missed the first six contests of the 2025 season for the Hoosiers with an undisclosed injury.

Entering Saturday’s showdown with the Spartans, while active for the first time all season, it remains to be seen whether or not Baldwin ends up taking the field this afternoon for the Hoosiers in what would be his collegiate debut.

Earlier this season, head coach Curt Cignetti referred to Baldwin as “day-to-day.” Before Indiana’s road clash at Iowa three weeks ago, Cignetti said “I’ll know more today,” when asked about Baldwin’s injury status ahead of the matchup with the Hawkeyes.

Cignetti has not commented further on what has kept one of the highest-ranked recruits in program history on the sideline to begin the year.

Also listed on Indiana’s availability report ahead of Saturday’s road contest was safety Bryson Bonds and running back Lee Beebe. Bonds, who suffered a knee injury in the Week 1 win over the Monarchs, and Beebe, who suffered a “non-contact knee injury” earlier in the season against Indiana State, will both miss the rest of the season due to their respective injures.

There were no other Hoosiers listed on this week’s availability report.
