Availability Report: Safety to miss second straight game, punter sidelined for Indiana's Week 2 clash with Kennesaw State

Indiana football safety Byron Baldwin Jr. and punter Mitch McCarthy will not suit up for the Hoosiers’ Week 2 matchup with Kennesaw State, according to the Big Ten availability report.
Earlier this week, head coach Curt Cignetti described Baldwin — who will miss his second consecutive game to begin his freshman season — as “day-to-day.” Cignetti declined to add any further detail as to what is keeping out one of the Hoosiers’ highest-ranked recruits in program history.

McCarthy, a transfer from UCF, appeared to have suffered an injury in the season opener against Old Dominion. Following his first punt attempt of the afternoon, McCarthy labored to the sideline before he was replaced by Indianapolis native Quinn Warren as the punter for the remainder of the contest.
Also listed on the team’s availability report was safety Bryson Bonds, who will miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury he sustained in the 27-14 win over the Monarchs in Week 1.
There were no other Hoosiers listed on this week’s availability report.
