Early Look: Taking a look at Indiana's Week 2 clash with Kennesaw State

Following an uninspiring Week 1 win over Old Dominion, Indiana now turns its attention to Kennesaw State, the Hoosiers’ opponent in Week 2. Indiana struggled to put away the Monarchs in its opener and will be looking to show a more commanding performance this weekend. The matchup with the Owls will provide another chance for Curt Cignetti’s bunch to settle in and demonstrate the ability to dominate an inferior opponent, though Kennesaw State’s gritty showing against Wake Forest in Week 1 suggests a blowout may not be a total formality. Kennesaw State nearly pulled off one of the shocks of opening weekend, falling 10–9 on the road at Wake Forest. The Owls had possession late in the fourth quarter with a chance to take the lead, but the drive fizzled out in four plays. That narrow loss served as a reminder that although KSU is still new to FBS football, it isn’t a program that is accustomed to rolling over. Since its founding in 2015, the Owls built themselves into an FCS power under Brian Bohannon, posting seven straight winning seasons and making four playoff appearances. The last three years have been more difficult, with a 10–22 record during the transition to the FBS, including a 2–10 finish last fall in their first full season at the new level. Without further ado, meet Indiana's Week 2 opponent, Kennesaw State.
