ESPN College Gameday set for Indiana football vs Oregon

The biggest game of next weekend just got even bigger. It was announced on Saturday night that ESPN’s College Gameday will make the trip to Eugene, Oregon, for the huge showdown between the Indiana Hoosiers and the Oregon Ducks.

It is expected to be a top-ten showdown, with Indiana currently ranked No. 8 and Oregon ranked No. 2 in the country.

This will be the second year in a row — and the fifth time overall — that Indiana football will be featured on College Gameday. Last season, the Gameday crew came to Bloomington for Indiana’s matchup against Washington, which the Hoosiers won.

“We just experienced an unbelievable environment, and I’m excited to experience ours,” said Oregon football head coach Dan Lanning this past week. “We prepared all week for a challenge of what’s this going to look like, playing at a place where you don’t have that on your side. Now, at Autzen this is something that can be an advantage for us and something that we will have on our side. I expect our fans to be what they always are — unbelievably enthused, there from beginning to end.”

Both teams will come into this game off a bye week, as well as both being 5-0 this season. Each team is eyeing a College Football Playoff berth as well as a trip to the Big Ten Championship in Indianapolis.

“They’re obviously very well coached,” Dan Lanning said. “They’ve got a team that plays really hard. They’re getting great quarterback play. I think to have a great team, you’ve got to have good quarterback play. They have that. They’re a tough team to go operate against. They’re doing some good things. We’re not too far ahead right now on Indiana. We’re more on us, but just from afar glancing at them some, you can see a lot of that.”

Kickoff is set for 3:30 PM ET on CBS.
