Indiana basketball continued to dip into the 2026 class with new offers on Thursday as it extended a scholarship to 7-foot center Ethan Taylor of Shawnee Mission Northwest (KS.) and MoKan Elite on the Nike EYBL Circuit.

This is a direct relationship with new Indiana assistant coach Rod Clark. Clark was on staff with MoKan in 2018 and 2019. Clark also spent time on Sunrise Christian (KS.) staff, another powerhouse high school program in Kansas.

As a junior Taylor averaged nearly 14.0 points, 10.0 rebounds and 3.0 blocks per game. He was named first team all-state and is already the school’s all-time leader in rebounds and blocks. Shawnee has won back-to-back state titles and is 47-3 in the last two seasons. Two of the three games were without Taylor, however, who missed some time with a thumb injury.

He had 19 points and 15 rebounds and six assists in the state title game.

As a sophomore, Taylor averaged 10.4 points, 9.1 rebounds and 4.0 blocks a game.

Taylor is a terrific presence in the paint and has great length and athleticism to score over and around defenders. He’s continued to get stronger which has helped in developing even better and more specific go-to moves in the post. He can turn over either shoulder in the paint and has good leaping ability as a lob threat.

Defensively, his length disrupts nearly every paint shot and has a knack for rebounding the ball.

Taylor is averaging 11.0 points, 8.7 rebounds and 1.3 assists this spring with MoKan — including two double-doubles. He played just eight minutes in the second game of the first AAU session last month, going scoreless — showing his impact and effectiveness in the other two games he’s appeared in.

Tennessee, where Indiana assistant Rod Clark previously coached, offered Taylor last June. In addition to Tennessee and Indiana, Taylor holds offers from Missouri, Purdue, Oklahoma and others.

Taylor is ranked the No. 49 overall player in the On3 Industry Rankings for the 2026 class, and the No. 5 center in the class.
